Introduction:1

I can never forget this day of my life. It was a day which taught me the lesson of life.

I had to take a decision between appearing for examination and taking an injured

person to the hospital on my scooter. This happened a few months ago. It was a

difficult and a conflicting situation for me but I am now proud of myself because I

took the right decision.

I took the decision to not go for the examination and instead take a poor man to the

hospital who immediately needed medical attention. I was really very confused

because it was a tough call. That day I was on my way to the school/college to

appear for my term end examination. I saw an old man sitting on the pavement and

his leg was bleeding profusely.

I could not resist so I asked him what happened but I did not understand what he

was saying. My heart said that I should urgently take him to the doctor but what if I

miss my examination? Will my teacher understand? This made it difficult for me. It

was a dilemma and it took me five minutes to decide. Finally, I helped him to sit on

my scooter and did what my heart said.

I missed my exam but I saved someone’s life. He was so much thankful to me. He

blessed me and started crying. I explained to my teacher. She not only believed me

but praise me in front of the whole school in the assembly. My exam was taken. I

realized that our first duty is towards the human kind and that is the biggest exam

of life. I felt satisfied, happy and very proud of myself.

Introduction:2

Well, taking decisions is part of our routine life and we take many minor as well as major decisions during our lifetime.

What the decision was?
Here I am going to talk about a decision that was not an easy one for me to take and it was the decision of the choice of stream of study after completing 10th class.

When you made the decision?
I vividly remember when I completed the 10th class I had to choose one field for my higher study.

Explain why it was a difficult decision to make?
My inclination was towards the commerce stream because I wanted to study business but my parents were compelling me to join the non-medical stream.

They had their own justification because they knew about the opportunities and prospects in the field of non-medical but rather than going against my parents’ decision, I decided to do a bit of research before I took my final decision.

I checked out some blogs where students had shared their experiences about their decisions related to their higher studies and their consequences. However, from that information, I was not in a position to draw any conclusion.

At this time, I approached my school teacher, she had taught me for more than 10 years and she was well aware of my capabilities, strengths and weaknesses. She too recommended me to go for business studies as I can do well in it.

In fact, a few of my friends are already in Canada for their higher studies and they too made me realize the potential of business studies. If in case I decide to move to Canada in future.

She consulted and convinced my parents to let me join commerce because it is very difficult to perform well in academics without interest.

Conclusion:
Finally, my parents agreed and I took this difficult decision but overall it was the time when I took a lot of time to take a decision.

Introduction:3

  • I think each decision is difficult in its own way because we gain something and lose something when we make any decision.
  • And in today’s world, I think making decisions is all the more difficult because of the increasing number of choices.
  • One of the most crucial and difficult decisions of my life was when I had to decide which stream to opt for during my senior secondary education.

What was the decision? and When you made the decision?

  • I made the decision around three years ago after graduating from high school.

How long did it take you to make the decision?

  • It took me nearly one month to make the decision.

And explain why it was a difficult decision to make?

  • I was confused because I didn’t know what each stream entailed.
  • During childhood, I never had a fixed dream job like others.
  • Somedays, I wanted to become a doctor, then there was a phase I wanted to become an astronaut.
  • There was also a time; I wanted to become an actor.
  • Some of my close friends were taking non-medical.
  • So, I was also afraid that if I opted for some other stream, I would lose my friends.
  • Every person I asked for advice gave me a different perspective.
  • That was also a mistake I made; I asked too many people.
  • Now, when I ask for advice, I only ask a few of my friends and my parents.
  • Ultimately, my parents helped me make the decision.
  • They asked me to take a 2-day exam, which tested my aptitude for different fields.
  • After the test, they told me that I should consider only two things, my gut feeling and the results of the test.
  • I should ignore everyone else’s advice, and after making the decision, I should not regret the decision.

Conclusion:

  • Ultimately, I opted for commerce, and I am really glad that I made that choice.

Introduction:4

Decision making is an important skill. Although I do not take much time while making a decision, in some cases, it turns out to be a daunting task.

What was the decision?, and When you made the decision?

Recently I had to decide on the purchase of a new smartphone for myself.

After going through the product features of both phones, I was in a state of bewilderment.

On the one hand, my mind was telling me to go for an Android phone, whereas my heart was forcing me to book an iPhone.

In the end, I had listened to my heart and bought the latest iPhone.

How long did it take you to make the decision?

It had taken me two months to make a choice.

And explain why it was a difficult decision to make?

The decision was tough because both iPhone and Android phones have carved out a niche in the smartphone market.

On the one hand, Android phones have tremendous reach because they have close to seventy-two per cent market share. People from all walks of life use these phones.

On the contrary, iPhone provides flawless security. Moreover, it has some exclusive applications which provide tremendous information.

Introduction:5

  • Decision making is tough to master. If decisions turn out to be fruitful they lead our life towards an impressive growth trajectory. However, if they turn otherwise, they disturb our state of flow.
  • And in this contemporary epoch, making decisions is a daunting task due to the numerous choices available at our disposal.

What was the decision?, and When you made the decision?

  • A few years back, I was in a state of confusion when I had to choose my stream of study after passing the tenth standard.

How long did it take you to make the decision?

  • Since a plethora of things had to be taken into consideration, it took almost three months to make an informed decision.

And explain why it was a difficult decision to make?

  • I was in a dilemma because I had too many thoughts coming into my mind. Such decisions change the trajectory of our lives, so I didn’t want to choose haphazardly.
  • In my childhood, I did not have a clear goal like others.
  • I was lost in the fantasy world. In the budding years, I wanted to be an engineer, later on, my interest shifted towards literature.
  • During my teenage, I wanted to be an actor.
  • The confusion started when many of my friends had opted for the non-medical stream.
  • The other contributing factor to my state of absolute disarray was my fear of losing my friends.
  • The confusion reached the tipping point when I had started taking advice from others.
  • After some time, I concluded that taking advice from others was a collosol mistake from my side.
  • Finally, I decided to take advice from my parents and friends only.
  • In the end, my parents came to my rescue and helped me make an informed choice.
  • They suggested I take a psychometric test to understand my strengths and weaknesses.
  • When the test result was out, most of my doubts were clear. I had a clear cut picture of the path to be chosen.
  • I decided to ignore all the choices I had made while discussing with others.

Conclusion:

  • Based on the test of the results, I opted for the non-medical stream.
Introduction:6
I think that decision-making is an integral part of our life and we are constantly making decisions, either big or small. If we do not make decisions then life will become boring and we will not be able to move forward in life. Today, I would like to talk about one such crucial decision, which I made around three years ago after graduating from high school.
After completing my schooling/graduation and it was time for me to decide what I wanted to do in my life. I was confused about what course should I opt for my further studies as I did not want to opt for traditional courses like engineering or medicine. I wanted an option that would provide me a bright future and at the same time should be interesting as well.
I searched a lot on the internet about alternative courses and colleges but as there was too much information, I got more confused. So, I decided to consult my elder sister who is living in Canada.
When I asked her for advice, she suggested I pursue a course in Animation as she knew about my interests in this field. It took me nearly one month to make the decision. My family also liked the idea when I told them that I have finally decided to pursue a course in Animation.
Anyway, it was indeed a very important decision to make because it allowed me to find out my true potentials, both on the intellectual level and professional level, in the subsequent years. Besides, this particular decision made me more confident about my life and future than ever before which was more of an important “gift” for me in itself.

Introduction:7

I would like to talk about one moment where I was contemplating between two subjects: which way should I go, as I had to decide for my career. It was the time when I completed my 12th grade and I had to go for higher education, that is, a bachelor’s degree. As I was in a dilemma whether I should choose medical as my career or go towards engineering, I started delving into the internet to search and find something useful but did not get any help out of it. Then, I approached my seniors to get some useful information from them but that also didn’t work out for me, because they had their own thought processes which were completely different from mine. So I finally decided to ask my dad who has always been there for me whenever I got stuck in any kind of difficult situation. He made me understand that I have a fondness of science specifically physics, and apart from that I have a keen interest in Maths, like solving mathematical questions, and if I choose engineering as my career I have to face the same subjects and will definitely flourish in my career as I am having quite a strong foundation. After that, I decided to opt for the engineering field and right now, I can see the outcome as I have achieved great accomplishments in my field. It is an amazing feeling and most importantly, I love what I do. So I think, the decision of pursuing engineering was an extremely tough decision for me to take at that time, but yes as my dad was by my side, I was able to pull it off successfully.
