I have visited many places during school holidays and academic trips/visits. I am very excited every time I go to a new location because it gives me a chance to explore new things. Today I want to talk about a place I visited two years ago with some friends and university staff.

Where it is? and When you visited this place?
Sivananda is an Ashram/orphanage situated close to Rishikesh. I went there two years ago when I was graduating. the organization has now become a well-known and recognized social institution across the country.

What you did there?
Not only does the organization provide them with food, education and shelter, but it also instill(gradually but firmly establish (an idea or attitude) in a person’s mind.) in them the morality to help our children grow, learn and become independent. I was in Rishikesh for a week-long visit. So our teacher and a couple of my friends decided to visit this place. We had been there a couple of hours. We had fun with the kids. Because we were computer students, we also gave computer training to young children. It is very lovely and peaceful.

The site boundary is completely lined with tall trees. I saw a hundred sorts of flowers there. Each thing seemed very nice and clean. Every staff member of this place was very cooperative and always ready to help other especially poor and needy people.

And explain why you think it was enjoyable?
It is located out of town and very close to a vilage so there is a very open area where kids can easily play. I felt very happy and satisfied to know that humanity is still alive. In this century still, people are ready to help others and change their lives.

Introduction 2

Where it is?

  • I belong to Phagwara.
  • It is a small town, and there are many villages near my hometown.
  • My maternal uncle and aunt have a farmhouse in a village near my hometown.
  • Their farmhouse is in the centre of lush green farms.

When you visited this place?

  • Last year, they invited us over to stay with them for a few days.
  • Their farmhouse is very well maintained, as they have given a portion of it to a family who stays there and looks after it.
  • They have maintained a very good kitchen garden, and I remember, the whole week we enjoyed fresh veggies from the garden.
  • They had grown aubergines, okra, bottle gourd, broccoli, cauliflower, mint, coriander and green chilly.
  • My uncle has retired from the agriculture department, and he knows a lot about organic farming.
  • He never sprays any insecticides and pesticides and even prepares compost at home from the kitchen waste.
  • Those vegetables tasted different.
  • What we eat in the cities has so much spray of insecticides and pesticides that the taste of veggies is different.

What you did there?

  • It was so much fun.
  • They have 4 dogs, two Pugs and two German Shepherds.
  • Every morning, we used to go for long walks in the fields, and the four dogs would walk by our sides without their leashes.
  • In the cities, you always have to leash your dog while going for a walk.
  • After the walk, we would all eat delicious parathas with butter made by my aunt.
  • We played badminton in their courtyard, and sometimes we also played Frisbee.

And how you feel about this place?

  • The air also seemed fresh and pollution free.
  • The atmosphere was so calm and quiet. There was also no noise pollution.
  • They have such a peaceful life, with absolutely no hurry and worry.

Conclusion:

  • I look forward to going and staying with them again this summer.

Introduction 3

Being a voracious traveller, I tend to visit the hinterlands. During my recent trip to the countryside, I got a chance to see a unique place.

Where it is?

The place is in the hinterlands of Punjab state of India. This place is of historical importance, and its name is Sanghol.

When did you visit this place?

I visited this place last month to experience the immense beauty of the countryside.

What did you do there?

I saw the ruins of an ancient civilisation. Moreover, I had a close look, at the coins and seals of that period. Apart from that, I visited a museum to attend the light and sound show to acquire more knowledge of that place.

After roaming in that area for a few hours, I started feeling hungry, to pamper my appetite, I had lunch at a local eatery in the village. The vegetables served were organic, and I tasted the mouth-watering delicacy of Punjab called Mustard Mash with Maize Bread. On the top of it, I had buttermilk in a king-size glass.

And explain why you think it was enjoyable?

In this contemporary epoch, fierce competition has become an integral part of people’s lives: due to this reason, there are a few places that have maintained their serenity. I am fortunate to spend my time in an area that provides an altogether different experience.

Conclusion

In my opinion, the world needs more people like Dr Rimple Sharma to make it a better place.

Introduction 4

Being a voracious traveller, I find pleasure in visiting new places. Recently, I visited a place in rural India, which I think has the potential to become the 8th wonder of the world.

Where it is?

This place is in the Himachal Pradesh state of India and falls under the Solan district. The name of the place is Mohan Shakti National Heritage Park.

When did you visit this place?

I visited this place last month. The purpose was to do something beyond the conventional domain. Therefore, I chose to go to a rural area instead of a city or a hill station.

What did you do there?

The first thing I did there was to take the blessings of the almighty by visiting the temple inside the complex.

After that, I had a look at the architecture of the complex. Although it is the latest construction, the architects have left no stone unturned to give it an ancient look. The design looks as if it is of the 16th century.

Furthermore, I had snacks at the restaurant inside the complex.

And explain why you think it was enjoyable?

The trip was enjoyable because I got a chance to see a place that has carved out a niche for itself.

Moreover, due to the corona pandemic, my country was in a state of lockdown. The visit to Mohan Shakti National Heritage Park helped me to unwind. The garden inside the complex is of massive size, and spending time over there was akin to sitting in the lap of mother nature.

Conclusion

It is a must-visit place for people from all walks of life.

Introduction 5

Being a city dweller, I haven’t got enough opportunities to spend time in the countryside. Recently I visited a village to celebrate an occasion.

Where it is?

The village is in the Ludhiana district of Punjab, and its name is Farour.

When did you visit this place?

Last month, I attended a wedding in a marriage palace built in the middle of the farms.

What did you do there?

Although the primary purpose was to enjoy the wedding, I did numerous other activities. As I reached in the morning, I bathed in the tubewell to get relief from the scorching heat of the summer. The experience that I had while bathing would remain etched in my memories.

Moreover, being a nature lover, I visited organic farms. I had home cooked mustard mash with maize bread to pamper my appetite. Apart from this, I tasted buttermilk and jaggery.

In the evening, I wore traditional Punjabi attire to look different. The wedding celebration lasted for four hours. I had an out of world experience during the party. The DJ had played music with high beats, and I danced for two hours at a stretch.

Finally, the wedding celebrations ended at around 2 am. I left for my place with the feeling that I would visit this countryside area again and again.

And explain why you think it was enjoyable?

The trip was enjoyable because it helped me do things beyond the conventional domain. There is no denying this conviction that city life has numerous advantages, but it lacks the originality of the countryside environment.

Introduction 6

Although I have visited numerous cities in my life, recently I went to an amazing place in the countryside.

Where it is?

It is a cricket stadium in the remote parts of Punjab amidst the fields.

When did you visit this place?

Being a cricket fanatic, I play this game with enthusiasm. One month back the captain of my cricket team organised a match with the players from the countryside, and I went there to play the game.

What did you do there?

I played a T20 cricket match.

And explain why you think it was enjoyable?

The trip was enjoyable for many reasons. The first and foremost thing was the environment inside the stadium. Unlike cities, the air was clean and pristine. Moreover, the outfield was lush green, due to that many players could slide while fielding.

The second most enjoyable thing about the trip was the hospitality of the people from the countryside. They left no stone unturned to serve some exotic mouth-watering delicacies to us. Moreover, the food served was cent per cent organic. Although I ate a lot, I did not feel heavy.

Lastly, the central attraction of the trip was the fighting attitude of the countryside players. We had gone there with the impression that our opponents were weak: however, the village team gave us a tough fight. Although we won the match, it was a close one.

Conclusion

The quality time I spent in the village and the cricket stadium would always remain etched in my memories.

Introduction 7

Well, I live in a city that is surrounded by several small villages.

The villages are free from the hustle and bustle of city life. Villages are peaceful, calm, quiet, and full of greenery where one can breathe fresh air.

Here I am going to talk about a Sikh museum I visited, which is situated in a nearby village.

This Sikh museum is one of the oldest and is renowned for its historical objects.

I visited there for the first time when I was in my 10th standard.
I went there with my family.

We had a great time visiting there.
The building has been refurbished to look like the old Sikh emperors’ castles.

The walls of the museum are covered with paintings of Sikh gurus, saints, Sikh warriors, and other prominent Sikh leaders who have contributed to the enhancement of the Sikh religion.

The main hall of the museum contains paintings by great Sikh artists, rare pencil sketches, musical instruments, the rarest stringed instruments, and guns of the Sikh Raj.

I took pictures of almost everything there.

The museum is designed to preserve the rich culture and history of Sikhs.

Visiting and learning about the history of the culture I belong to was very emotional for me.

Nearly 400-500-year-old weapons of our gurus are also kept there for visitors to see.

It was very fascinating to see all those things.

Sikh culture has always believed in equality, and I couldn’t be happier knowing that Sikh people have always treated everyone fairly, regardless of their race, colour, or religion.

After that, we visited a nearby gurdwara and ate langar there. We sat there for about 2 hours, and it gave me peace.

It was a very memorable visit, and I hope to visit there again soon.
So this is the place in a village that I visited.
