There is a local handicraft company in my city. It makes a variety of things like cane

furniture, bags, dresses, artifacts for display and other miscellaneous things. The

name of this company is ‘local flavor’ it is the pride of my city. I have visited this

company as a part of my school’s educational trip and I was really very impressed.

This company has hired almost 5000 people from and around my city. The

employees range from artists, artisans men and women. Most of them are middle

aged women. Women comprise almost 70 percent of the staff and this is really an

interesting fact.

I feel very proud that such a company exists in my city. This company generates

employment for so many people in my city. Whenever I see any product in the

market which has the label of this company I feel joy and satisfaction from within. I

feel like working in this company for a short time to experience its work culture.

The company organizes regular fairs and exhibitions of their hand crafted products

and these are very popular. People buy a lot of things from these exhibitions

because the products are unique and affordable. Media has also published a lot

about this company in the newspaper and on radio. Now it is coming up with its own

Well, there are a lot of options to work in my hometown like people Can set up their own business, it can be at large or small scale, can get employment in various firms according to the qualification and skill they possess. There are numerous factories which employ thousands of people from which some are Hyundai Motors, Mahindra, Bharat Petroleum, but here I would like to talk about an industry which is currently at the top and people are really interested to work in it.

What it does?
The name of the industry is HMEL’s Guru Gobind Singh Petroleum Refinery. It is strategically positioned to Service the energy demand using world-class technologies, they produce superior quality, high value and environmentally safe petroleum and petrochemical products to fuel the growth of surging India.

How many people it employs? and What kind of people work there?
This industry employs thousands of people who are not only from India but also from other countries. There are various reasons that why people are struggling to get a job in this company. First and foremost is the Salary package which includes a plethora of other benefits. Secondly, the work culture is outstandingly safe. This is the first company in Bathinda that got a 5-star rating in Process Safety Management.

How you feel about it? and Conclusion:
Honestly, I’m really honored that this industry is near my town as it plays an important role to empower the city.

• I know of many workplaces in and around my home town such as industries, banks, and educational institutes.
• Here I am going to talk about a workplace, which is in my hometown and employs a lot of people.
• It is the JCT mill, which stands for Jagatjit Cotton and Textile Mills.
• It is on the G.T. Road.
• This mill was established in 1946.
• The chairman of the company is Mr. M.M. Thapar.
• My uncle works in the HR department of this Mill.
• He tells me a lot about the Mill.

How many people it employs?

• Many people, nearly around 30,000, work in this Mill and they are proud to be part of this Mill.
• The employer employee relation is very good.
• They provide many facilities to their employees.
• They provide housing at a very low cost to their employees.
• Their housing colony is called Thapar Colony.
• They also provide healthcare facilities for their employees.
• They have a school where the children of their workers can study free of cost.
• This school is affiliated to the Punjab School Education Board.
• The employees live in a world of their own inside the Thapar Colony.

• The Mill manufactures cotton fabric.
• Even big names like Raymonds and Siyaram buy fabric from here and sell it under their own tag.

What does it do?

This company is a pioneer in solar panels manufacturing and sales.

How many people does it employ?

The company started in the year 2000 with just 20 employees. Now more than 1,000 employees work over here.

What kind of people work there?

This company employs people from all walks of life. The team comprises people from the age group of 20 years to 55 years. The company goes beyond the conventional domain while recruiting employees. Here the skillset of a person enjoys more importance than the qualifications.

That is why people from diverse backgrounds work with this company.

How do you feel about it?

This organisation is a source of inspiration for me. Solarwise has carved out a niche for itself by laying its attention on the improvement of our environment. There is no denying this conviction that due to usage of petrol and diesel our surroundings have become polluted. In this contemporary epoch where most of the companies focus on strengthening the bottom line.

This organisation is a bit different from others. The promoters over here are of an altruist nature. Their central focus is on constant research and innovation in the field of solar energy. Due to their determination, dedication and discipline, the conventional power consumption in my city has declined by thirty per cent.

All street lights in my city run on solar power. Another reason for liking this company is that it has given a new lease of life to unemployed youth by providing them employment.

It is a catering company by the name of food craft. This company has carved out a niche for itself in its domain.

It had a humble beginning in the year 2007. However, with the determination, dedication and discipline of its management team, it has grown by leaps and bounds.

How many people does it employ?

This company has around 1000 employees. In the starting days, most of the employees were on a contract. However, currently, all the workforce is on the payroll of the company.

What kind of people work there?

It has a workforce from all age groups. The employees engaged in customer service are mainly young. Most of them have degrees in hotel management, whereas the kitchen staff that prepares mouth-watering delicacies for the guests consists of the young and old workforce. On the one hand, young resources focus on research on new cuisines. On the other hand, the veterans leave no stone unturned to preserve the authentic taste of traditional cuisine.

To provide the best services to its clients, this organisation recruits competent people from overseas. For example, their Chinese cuisine chef is from China, and an Italian cuisine expert is a resident of Italy.

How do you feel about it?

Honesty I feel privileged to have an organisation in my city, that goes beyond the conventional domain to provide impeccable service to its clients.

Due to startups like Food Craft, the young unemployed youngsters of my city have got a reliable platform to showcase their talent.

In this era of fierce competition, most companies lay excessive focus on strengthening their bottom-line. However, there are a few companies that have the potential to carve out a niche for themselves by going beyond the conventional domain.

One such company is “Planetwise”.The company has its headquarter in my hometown.

What does it do?

This company converts plastic waste into products. One of its products is a flower pot which they make by using waste plastic bags.

How many people does it employ?

This company is 4,000 headstrong.

What kind of people work there?

The people working here are from all walks of life. To look after the production process, there is a team of highly qualified engineers. For sales and dispatch, the organisation utilises the services of retired people.

And the best part about this company is that it has allied with rag pickers who collect plastic waste and deposit it with the company. The company pays them for this service.

How do you feel about it?

This company is a blessing for our nation because it employs the weaker sections of society. Most people working here are those who used to find it challenging to make both ends meet due to a severe financial crunch. However, now they are living a respectful life because of permanent employment.

Moreover, due to the initiative of this company the looks of my city has changed. These days it is difficult to find waste plastic bags in our city. Because the company utilizes all of them in its production. Apart from this, the clogging of drains has stopped, and water pollution is declining considerably.

There are many companies in my hometown which employs a lot of people. Here I am going to talk about one of that company and its name is nestle. It is quite famous in Punjab because out of all the cities it is only situated in Moga. Moreover, the first branch of Nestle in India was also set up in Moga in the year 1961. It is located on Ferozepur road. The Company’s activities in Moga have facilitated direct and indirect employment and provides livelihood to thousands of people. the firm supplies various products such as noodles, milk powder, tomato sauce, chocolates and many more. Workers working in nestle company enjoy a lot of benefits such as High salary, Job security, Free food and work-life balance is also given a lot of importance. Nestle is the leading food production company in the world. I think the best thing about nestle is its hygiene policy and the safety it provides to employees. I know many people who have worked there in the past and they always praise this firm whenever I ask them about their experience. Policies are transparent and are employee-friendly. They provide a good platform to develop skills and gain experience on technical skills. Whenever they need new employees thousands of people wait in line to find a job in this organisation. So this is the company in my hometown which employs a lot of people.

I think big companies are the backbone for the economy of a city. There are diverse industries in my city, like manufacturing factories. I would like to tell you about a Textile Manufacturing Company it employs 4000 people as it has various departments like HR Department, account Department, Development Department, and product management Department.

This textile industry is primarily concerned with the production of yarn, and cloth, as well as the subsequent design or manufacturing of clothing and their distribution. The raw materials, used in the company can be natural or synthetic, depending on the demands and requirements of the customers.

It has to employ this many employees it has a good work culture like they organize family outing award ceremony and sports events. Hence, it is always nice to work in such companies that is what their employs tell in the feedback I feel that this company should expand their services more and more to cater as many people as possible from the city they should also open branches of this company so that many people can join

 I think they mostly hire people who are talented and productive I mean they don’t the only lookout for the certificates or the examinations a candidate has passed they also look at the talents and skills the candidate is having one of my friends is currently working in that company.

He told me the other day that he was hired based on his willingness to learn and grow; he was not hired because of his experience or certificates, which stands this company apart from all other companies in the city, and I really feel proud about this company.

Small and big companies yield a plethora of people to jobs. In my city, a host of workplaces where people do their job. Today I would like to talk about one of the companies where lots of people doing the job. Its name is Ramakrishna cotton mill, it is not far away from my home, just 8 KM away. They have nearly 2000 employees. Its cotton mill hence, for work there no required academic degree. One of my friend’s father works there thus, whenever we chit-chat he told me about the company.

The company takes care of staff as well employees and provide a healthy salary. employees’ and employers’ relationship is also good. Regularly after completed month workers get their salary in their bank account. Workers get rewards or bonuses on special occasions such as Diwali. They also arranged colonies for living. It knows as the KR colony. Where employees can get 24 hr water and electricity supply, mainly it is free of cost. It is big company in our Ares, lots of people works there, company export cotton to other companies and they sell it under their own tag.

Yes, of course. Companies do have other responsibilities like making a

contribution to the society. They should donate for education and

Big companies contribute a lot to the nation’s economy and that is how they

help build the nation. The share prices of the big companies also has an

influence on the nation. People of the country can get employment and also

I would like to work in both. Both the companies give a different kind of

experience and it would be great to learn it. If I get a chance I will not let go

I think that apart from focusing on the main work of the company it should

focus on the comfort and ease of the employees. Facilitated working

atmosphere with no pressure is a great work culture. The atmosphere

should be free, work oriented and enrich the professional lives of its
