Ever since she made her Hindi film debut with the 2014 film Heropanti, Bollywood actress Kriti Sanon has managed to bag a lot of films. Not only this, she has also garnered a huge fan following and has shown her acting skills in movies like Dilwale, Bareilly Ki Barfi and Raabta. Kriti, who has three films lined up in her kitty, is all geared up for her first collaboration with the Soorma star Diljit Dosanjh.

Kriti and Diljit are working on the upcoming film Arjun Patiala. Helmed by Rohit Jugraj Chauhan, the movie is being produced by Dinesh Vijan under the banner of Maddock Films. However, the romantic comedy which was scheduled to release on September 13 has now been postponed.

Apart from Kriti and Diljit, Arjun Patiala also stars Ronit Roy, Varun Sharma and Manjot Singh in pivotal roles.

Subhash Kapoor is accused of molesting actor Geetika Tyagi in 2014 and the matter is in court. “It is our foremost duty to make our industry safe for everyone, make an industry that creates environment of equality and a better place to work. With the on-going proceedings against the director that have been brought to our notice, everyone at T-Series has decided to not work with the director,” Bhushan Kumar told Indian Express.

Asked if this meant that Aamir Khan would get back on board again after Subhash Kapoor’s exit, Mr Kumar told the Indian Express, “That I can’t comment now as you can understand from his tweet he has nothing against us but director.”

Subhash Kapoor has essentially named himself as the ‘someone’ in the statement, telling Indian Express: “I understand and respect Aamir Khan’s and Kiran Rao’s decision. Since matter is subjudice, I intend to prove my innocence in the court of law. But I do want to raise a question – is secretly filming a crying woman without her consent and knowledge and uploading it on social media not harassment or abuse? Or is it fine if she is related to someone who is “accused” of a misconduct. If your answer is latter then for me it’s nothing less than a khaap panchayat mentality.”

Quoting Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao’s statement, Geetika Tyagi thanked the couple and wrote, “This is commendable and this is the kind of support we want so that more and more women can come out. Thank you.”

Mumbai: The upcoming gritty drama ‘Sonchiriya’ promises to be a power packed action film giving a glimpse of the glorious years dacoits in central India.

Director Abhishek Chaubey of ‘Ishqiya’ and ‘Udta Punjab’ fame creates a world of real Real Desi action performed by the ensemble cast in Sonchiriya, the audience will witness raw action of the encounters between the dacoits and police.

 

Sonchiriya presents tale set in the era of dacoits.

The star cast has refused to use the body doubles and all the action were performed by themselves. The audience will witness Sushant Singh witnessing high octane stunts in the film.

Starring Sushant Singh Rajput, Bhumi Pednekar, Manoj Bajpayee, Ranvir Shorey, and Ashutosh Rana in lead roles, Sonchiriya presents tale set in the era of dacoits.

Producer Ronnie Screwvala who has not only presented blockbusters but also award-winning films is all set to present ‘Sonchiriya’. The movie is slated to release on 8th February 2019.

Politician Sanjay Raut, who has written the story of Thackeray, based on the life of Bal Thackeray, says that nobody can ban the film and that the CBFC, which has raised objections on the movie, will understand the vision of the Shiv Senafounder.

During the trailer launch of the film on Wednesday, Raut told the media here, “We have projected Balasaheb exactly the way he lived his life, the way he expressed his opinions on his people and political situations. We did not fictionalise anything. Abhijit (Panse, director of the film) projected everything in a real manner in the film.”

“Nobody can ban the film. It is the story of Thackeray…. How could someone stop that? Balasaheb banned many people during his time. Did you people forget that? How could CBFC decide what is right or wrong on Saheb’s life? Only family members know that. I am sure even the censor board will understand the vision of Balasaheb. They will take time, but they will understand.”

According to reports, the trailer of Thackeray faced objections over a few scenes and sentences that could possibly cause problems and hurt religious sentiments.

The film features National Award-winning actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui as Bal Thackeray.

In the trailer, it is clear that Nawazuddin’s Thackeray is commenting on the demolition of the Babri Masjid and the Hindu-Muslim riots that took place in Mumbai in 1992. It also shows how the politician commented on the India and Pakistan relationship during his active political years.

The trailer launch took place at the Carnival, IMAX theatre, where the spirit of Marathi culture was celebrated. Thousands of followers of the Shiv Sena party and Thackeray gathered at the venue. His family members — Uddhav Thackeray, Rashmi Thackeray — along with actress Amrita Rao and other crew members were also present.
